Tropical Vibes w/ Ellos

Ahhhh, Summer. It seems like NYC completely skipped Spring and went right to heat, humidity and bolder colors. With the exception of last weeks cloudy rainy mess, it's been pretty easy to start thinking about Summer while still in Spring. With the help of the fine folks at Ellos, I was able to come up with an outfit that while said Summer, could still get pulled off now.

I used their Long Knit Elastic Waist Skirt in Waterfall Print for just that right bit of color. I wanted to make sure the print wasn't too bold but easy to pair with many pieces in my closet. I had to knot it as well since it's a pretty long skirt and I'm a very short woman.

I opted out of wearing a fancier blouse because I didn't want the look to feel formal at all. With such a bold color and print I wanted a pretty muted top to let the skirt "do all the talking". It's a little trick I learned from my mother. I always make sure my pop of color is the focal point and everything else will follow suit. I decided on the Drapey V-Neck Tee by Ellos in Black and never looked back.

I finished off the look with loafers by Ellos as well. I've spoken about them in numerous other posts, they are so comfortable it's hard to wanna put anything else on during photoshoots.

Take a look at how I styled the look, and let me know in the comments what kind of pieces are you wearing for Summer?
